Mimi is a founding member of the firm and a Korean national who was called to the Singapore Bar in 2015. She is one of very few Korean nationals fully qualified to practice and regularly appear before the Singapore courts.
With over a decade of experience in litigation and arbitration, Mimi has built a strong reputation for representing clients in complex, high-value disputes across a broad spectrum of commercial litigation, international arbitration, insolvency, shipping, and criminal matters. She regularly appears before the Singapore courts and has acted in international arbitrations under major institutional rules, including SIAC, and ICC with arbitral seats in Singapore, New York, and other key jurisdictions.
Mimi also practices criminal law and regularly represents both local and international clients in criminal proceedings before the Singapore Courts. She is currently the only Korean-speaking lawyer who can represent Korean clients in criminal proceedings before the Singapore courts. She has also served as a legal advisor to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Singapore for a decade and continues to assist Korean companies and individuals based in Singapore. In addition, Mimi is a volunteer lawyer with the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme (CLAS), where she provides pro bono representation to individuals in need.
In addition to complex dispute work, Mimi regularly advises companies on day-to-day legal issues, including employment matters, company incorporation, and minor commercial disputes. In particular, she plays a vital role in supporting Korean businesses in Singapore by providing practical legal guidance in their native language, ensuring clarity and confidence in navigating local regulations.
Despite her Korean background, Mimi acts for clients from a wide range of jurisdictions, including Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, Denmark, and the United States—reflecting her ability to bridge cultures and navigate cross-border legal issues with confidence and clarity.
Mimi has been recognised as a “Future Star” in Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific 2026 and “Notable Practitioner” in Asialaw 2025.
In addition, Mimi is an active committee member of the Law Society of Singapore and currently serves on both the ADR Committee and the Foreign Bar Liaison Committee (Korea Chapter), reflecting her active involvement in Singapore’s legal community.
