Christine graduated from the Yong Pung How School of Law at Singapore Management University with a Bachelor of Laws (Cum Laude) in 2021 and was placed on the final year Dean’s List.  She was subsequently admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2022.

Christine is an Associate in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team.  She has experience acting for clients in the following areas:

  • Construction disputes

  • Property disputes between landlord and tenant, and between co-owners

  • Personal injury claims (for both plaintiff and defendant)

  • Advising on policy coverage for insurance matters

  • Contractual disputes

After being admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court, Christine has assisted and successfully argued contested matters and carried out cross-examination of witnesses in the High Court.


Work Highlights

  • The “Maersk Katalin” [2024] SGHC 282 – representing shipowner in misdelivery claim, dealing with issues as to whether the claimant (bank) had acquiesced to the delivery of the cargo without the presentation of the original bills of lading / ratified the delivery and whether the claimant looked to the original bills of lading as security 

  • Cheng Hoe Soon v Ezekiel Peter Latimer (formerly practicing in the style of M/s Peter Ezekiel & Co) [2023] SGHC 53 – represented defendant in a case pertaining to the reversal of an unless order made against the plaintiff which resulted in the plaintiff’s claim being struck out. 

  • Letchumy A/P Sukumaran (administrator of the estate of Ana A/L Batumalai, deceased) v Sim Kah Siong [2022] SGDC 259 – represented insurers in a case pertaining to whether letters of administration issued in Malaysia could allow one to act for a deceased’s estate in Singapore 

  • Rajina Sharma d/o Rajandran (suing by her litigation representative Theyvasigamani s/o Periasamy) v Theyvasigamani s/o Periasamy and another (Song Teck Chong, third party) [2024] SGHC 42 – represented insurers in SGD $3.4 million personal injury claim, dealing with the novel issue of whether an additional discount should be applied to account for vicissitudes other than mortality when determining the applicable multiplier for future losses.
